Good Morning. I have a Compaq laptop that is now 5 years old. The speed has become unbearably slow whether using the Internet or just general use. I’ve run optimisations, clean ups etc from my anti-virus software but nothing seems to work. When using the internet it always gives the warning “high CPU usage”. How much would it cost for a service ?

I have a Compaq laptop that is just under 2 years old. It has been working fine but suddenly began saying my pen drive was not recognised, it then began displaying messages saying ‘not responding’ and I closed it down. But now it will not restart properly and is opening a dos screen giving me two options to open it, neither of which work. Is this something you would be able to repair for me please and could you give me any idea of price?
thank you

Hi Julia, sorry to hear about your laptop troubles – it sounds virusy to me although I’d have to see it myself to be sure. I can either try and repair what is wrong software wise or often the best choice is to copy all your files/folders etc somewhere safe and then re install the windows operating system. I give it back to you with all the drivers, service packs security updates and whatever anti virus preference you have plus all your data back where it should be. Your machine will probably be much quicker also. Call me on 07723 994819 if you want any advice. thanks 🙂
